About Us
The Ontario Human Induced pluripotent Stem (iPS) Cell Facility has been established with seed funding from the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation with the mission to position Ontario at the cutting edge of the new technologies and applications in induced pluripotent stem cells. The Facility will develop best practices in the technologies of reprogramming with a focus on the establishment and banking of patient-specific primary fibroblast cell lines, and the subsequent generation and characterization of iPS cells. In addition to the generation of cell lines which will be made available to the broader research community, the iPS Cell Facility will serve an important role in providing Ontario researchers training and access to cutting edge iPS technologies for their own research endeavors.
